About This Site

I have been meaning to create this site for a while. I guess that I have been just too busy to do it before now but I feel it is quite important to me to be able to do this. It has been nagging at me for a year or so and now that I have started it I feel much better.

It is important because I have received a lot from the Internet and in the last few years I have earned a lot of money too. The simple fact is that I want to put something back.

I know that sounds corny, but that’s exactly what it is.  I know what it is like to struggle to work out how to make money from this whole web thing. I too have spent some time floundering around trying to figure something out. I too have spent money on techniques and systems that were totally worthless. It is not easy to know exactly what or who to trust. Plus, there are many greedy people out there who want to take advantage of you and sell you some dubious system to get rich quick.

I remember what it feels like when you get started. I know the combined feelings of excitement, frustration and desperation that can drive you forward. The feelings that mingle with the doubt and uncertainty when confronted by a vast range of choices about which path to take and how to do things. The temptation is to give up and try something else.

Systems, gurus and websites that promise a lot and don’t deliver.

Part of me wants to say that it is not easy to make money off the Internet but that is not actually true. In some ways it is incredibly simple to make money on the Internet but there are so many permutations and combinations. There are so many ways of “not quite succeeding”. It is easy to succeed but it is also easy to fail.

I have met many people who have tried and have just missed the target. Talking with them it has been clear to me that with some trivial changes or  more effort at critical points things could have been very different for them.

Why Should You Read This Blog

On this site I show you exactly what I do. This is not some academic white paper. Nor is it a get rich quick scheme. I simply show you what I do. Step by step, area by area. I show you what I do.

I teach you what I have learned. Some of it is simple and may be common sense to you but some it may astonish you. Most people will learn something  and some people will learn a lot.

I do other things too. I run a couple of businesses that make money. Those earnings are mainly from the internet and without the web I would be running those businesses totally differently. So I post information here often, but not constantly. In the main I am able to devote about 6 hours a week to work on this site. So, you can expect two or three posts a week.

If you have anything that you want me to write about specifically then comment a reply to one of the articles and it will get to me. If it fits in with my aims on this site and if I have something to contribute then I will consider it carefully. On the subject of comments: this site is moderated 100% so nothing gets through unless someone here has read and approved it. This means that there should be very little spam. It also means that your comments may take some time before they are reviewed. On a positive note, feel free to include a  back-link to your own site URL in your comment. I am quite happy providing it is reasonable.

All this is free. I explain and describe everything and I mean everything about how I work and earn a living. There will never be any charge for access to this site. You can come here and learn from my experiences and go away and use them. No charge.

Where they will be helpful I will try to include videos and audio. This rather depends on how much time I have available as video and audio production costs time. They also cost money but I already have the recording facilities and so the financial cost is minimal. But it is time that is important to me.

This is the site where I put something back into the web community.

This site is free. If you wish you can follow the instructions on this site and you can do exactly what I do and make money too. That is not to say that I will not be earning money from it though.

This Site is Also Intended to be Profitable

I am not trying to make out that this is a “not for profit” charity and I am certainly not working for free. After all I make my living off the Internet and you wouldn’t expect anything less would you? So let me be open about that and I’ll say it again.

This site is intended to be profitable.

There are times when I will recommend a product and if you click on the link I will get a commission. That is called affiliate marketing. You can be sure that if I recommend something then it is because I have found to be the best tool for the job. For most situations the best option is to use a free service (I love free services). Where the best option is something free I will not try to tell you otherwise.  Sometimes, though, the best solution costs money and I can often earn some commission from my link to the product. If you choose not to allow me a commission you can buy the tool directly from the supplier and cut me out of the transaction. You won’t get it any cheaper but so be it.

If I recommend something I expect you to do some research and check it out before you buy anything. That is just good business sense on your part.

A lot of sites do this but they don’t tell you that they are making money as affiliates. I do, I will, and I am.

There will also be times when I will offer to sell you something that will save you time. For instance there may be a process, or a system or a template or whatever. I will give you full instructions how to do this task yourself. There will probably be some screenshots and a video or two. That will all be free. You will be shown how to do it from first principles the way I have done it.

I may also offer you a simplified solution. I may offer you a copy of my own template or something that will save you from having to do the work yourself. In effect I will be charging you a couple of dollars to save you a few hours or a few days work. Again, you are under no obligation to buy. After all, you can follow the instructions and do it yourself if you prefer. Often, following the instructions is best option because you will be learning more by doing it yourself. But if you want to save that time then I will earn a small amount of money by doing the work for you so to speak.

Let’s Talk About Money

After all, that’s probably the reason that some of you are visiting this site. I have been making money off the Internet for about 6 years. It is only in the last 4 years that I have made a lot of money.  And I mean a LOT of money. That is not to say that I am fabulously wealthy and that I can retire with beach homes on 5 continents and a new Ferrari every year!

No. that sort of wealth is not what I am talking about. What I mean is that at the moment my wife, children and I are very comfortable and fast approaching the time when we never have to worry about money again.

All that income has come from the Internet and from doing things that I will describe on this site. I will admit that it took me a couple of years to get my act together. For about 2 years I was struggling to understand what to do. I think of that time as my apprenticeship. It was when I learned the skills of my trade. I did not earn much money, but I learned what to do and what not to do.

Don’t worry, I am not considering retirement. I think that I am too young. The fact is that I also really, really enjoy what I am doing and don’t want to do anything else just now.

How to Do Stuff

I am not a sales guy. I will never try to hard sell anything to you. In fact I see myself as more of a technical person. An engineer, if you wish. Not quite a geek. Selling is not my style. So on this site you will not get “sold” to. You will find out only how to do stuff.
